“I, wisdom, dwell together with prudence;
I possess knowledge and discretion.
To fear the Lord is to hate evil;
I hate pride and arrogance,
evil behavior and perverse speech.
Counsel and sound judgment are mine;
I have insight, I have power.
By me kings reign
and rulers issue decrees that are just;
by me princes govern,
and nobles—all who rule on earth.
I love those who love me,
and those who seek me find me.
With me are riches and honor,
enduring wealth and prosperity.
My fruit is better than fine gold;
what I yield surpasses choice silver.
I walk in the way of righteousness,
along the paths of justice,
bestowing a rich inheritance on those who love me
and making their treasuries full.”
Proverbs 8:12-21
Have you heeded the call of wisdom? For this is truly God speaking to you. The greatest mistakes in life, in relationships, in decision making happen due to lack of wisdom.
If we all look back at our journey, we will see many things that ignoring wisdom’s call cost us.
For we can possess so many advantages and blessings in this world but without wisdom, they can be mismanaged and even lost. If you have money without wisdom that money will spend you instead of you spending it rightfully. Jesus said in Luke 7:35, “Wisdom shall be justified by its children.” Wisdom embraces God’s way of doing things. Wisdom wants to lead you; listen to its voice for there is such way that seems good to a man but the end of it is destruction.
It is true that with time comes experience, but the divine wisdom of God knows no age, no race, no barrier or division. Today, make a decision to heed wisdom’s call, and this starts with the simple understanding that God is God and we should reverence Him.
As believers in Christ, we need wisdom to relate with those who are not believers, for it is only by Christ’s character that our life can speak.
