“As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all.” Ecclesiastes 11:5

Since the days of old when men first walked on this earth and schemed together to build a huge tower that would reach the Heavens, man has always tried to understand God mentally. Yet time and time again, the story repeats itself until the truth is spelt out that God’s ways are not our ways, His thoughts are not our thoughts.

Where we desire vengeance, God pursues mercy. Where we encourage pride, God exalts the humble, where we focus on the outside, God looks at the heart. That is the greatest mystery of all – the God who created us now dwells not in temples built with human hands but within us by faith in our heart. (Acts 17:24)

Each embryo is a miracle of divine life, life that starts with the breath of God – life that will one day come to an end, and the spirit will return to God. Tomorrow is the mystery. Whatever we have achieved or built today through our human effort or skill, no man knows by the present sign or situation what the future holds.  Only the present belongs to us and tomorrow belongs to God. Yes, God has chosen to keep us in the dark concerning future events so that we would reverence Him. In Exodus 3, God said to Moses, “I am who I am.” This is an expression of divine mystery: God is Spirit.

Since God is Spirit, how then can we know Him? We know God by the Word He speaks and the Word He speaks represents His heart desire. It is God’s Word that teaches the believer how to please Him.

God’s Word clearly tells us that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. Mystery can only be discerned by revelation. Take a moment to reflect on the mystery of God, and pray this prayer:

Lord Jesus, increase in me the spirit of the fear of God, reverence for Your ways and commitment to Your Word, in Jesus’ name.

HE WILL GIVE YOU WHAT YOU HAVE NOT ASKED

“So God said to him, “Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice, I will do what you have asked.” 1 Kings 3:11-12
God was pleased that Solomon requested divine wisdom to carry out his God-given assignment instead of earthly riches or fame, and blessed him more than he could imagine.
In the same way, God tests our hearts to reward us, to see what we truly seek.”

WRITTEN IN HEAVEN

“However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:20
When the seventy-two disciples returned with joy from their mission, Jesus warned them that the source of their joy should come not from the visible results of the Spirit’s power, but the Holy Spirit Himself, who has sealed for Christ, and written our name in Heaven.”

REVIVE ME

“As long as you have the gift of life, make sure your spirit is revived and this is something only the Spirit of God can do through His Word, which is spirit and life (John 6:63).

* Oh Holy Spirit, breath of God, breathe in me the breath of God!
* Oh Holy Spirit, through whom all things were created, create in me a new life, a new beginning!.”
