The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord,
Like the rivers of water;
He turns it wherever He wishes.
Proverbs 21:1
Solomon said in the Book of Proverbs that God holds the hearts of every man in his hand and turns them as He pleases. In Haggai 1:14, God stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel and those God called to rebuild the temple, and their work prospered and bore fruit because of the divine motivation of their heart.
When King Xerxes tossed and turned in his bed unable to sleep, God touched his heart to remember Mordecai the Jew who had uncovered a plot to overthrow him (Esther 6:1-3) Mordecai thought that the good deed was long forgotten but God never forgot, God never forgets, and He works through the circumstances of life.
In the same way that God hardened the heart of Pharoah against Moses and the children of Israel so that their divine deliverance would speak for generations of God’s power, your heart is in His hands.
Do you feel like giving up while praying for situations or people? Don’t lose heart because prayer is not empty words but an acknowledgment that there is a superior realm that controls the visible and invisible worlds. And the King of this realm is the king of your heart. When He says yes, no one can say no.
