“I have listened attentively,
but they do not say what is right.
None of them repent of their wickedness,
    saying, “What have I done?”
Each pursues their own course
like a horse charging into battle.
Even the stork in the sky
    knows her appointed seasons,
and the dove, the swift and the thrush
observe the time of their migration.
But my people do not know
    the requirements of the Lord.”

Jeremiah 8:6-7

Everything God created is part of a unified whole. What is your position in this harmony of creation?

As the greatest product of the Holy Spirit, you are created to be one in unity with God, to be wired to the Creator of Heaven and earth, to listen to His voice and follow His ways.

Nothing God makes is a whole in itself; everything God created requires a connection. And the way we are connected is beyond what a sentence can explain. There is seedtime and there is harvest, time to plant and time to reap, and each time needs the other. Confusion, chaos and conflict arises when we do not obey the natural seasons of our lives. Nature respects God, wildlife respects God and the laws of nature, but do we respect God? Do we reverence Him?

Take a look within yourself today – God is not deaf – He is listening attentively, but so often we do not say what is right. We speak doubt instead of faith, we complain instead of worshipping, we speak division and hatred instead of forgiveness and love. We proclaim judgement on others rather than repenting of our own sin.

You say you want God to hear you, but it is the voice of humility that God hears most clearly. And what He is looking for is a contrite heart, genuine repentance and obedience to His commands.

That is what the Lord requires – to love Him above all. For when you love God above all, you are serving a purpose larger than yourself, and then you will discover your position in creation.

WRITTEN IN HEAVEN

“However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” Luke 10:20
When the seventy-two disciples returned with joy from their mission, Jesus warned them that the source of their joy should come not from the visible results of the Spirit’s power, but the Holy Spirit Himself, who has sealed for Christ, and written our name in Heaven.”

REVIVE ME

“As long as you have the gift of life, make sure your spirit is revived and this is something only the Spirit of God can do through His Word, which is spirit and life (John 6:63).

* Oh Holy Spirit, breath of God, breathe in me the breath of God!
* Oh Holy Spirit, through whom all things were created, create in me a new life, a new beginning!.”

GOD FIRST

“Let’s take a lesson from David who was ready to be humiliated in his own eyes, so that God could be honoured. Ask yourself: Where does honouring God appear in your list of priorities? Do you thank Him for all that He has done in your life, all the way long? While men look at the outside, God looks at the motives of the heart. Instead of worrying about the opinion of others concerning you, let the motive of your heart each day be to honour God before yourself.”
