MY STRONGHOLD

“The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord;
    he is their stronghold in time of trouble.” Psalm 37:39

In times of trouble, times of testing, times of pain, where do you run to?

When Jesus said in Mark 5:36, ‘Do not be afraid; only believe,’ He showed us where our stronghold is.

No matter what statistics say, no matter what your situation says, no matter what the voice of your society says, we have no other refuge than this command of Jesus, ‘Only believe.’

 

If we believe that God’s Word is true for our lives, and that our salvation comes from the Lord, that is where our strength comes from to run the race to the end, from within. This is our stronghold.

Despite taking great care of our physical appearance, so many of us are discouraged, frustrated, fearful, angry, bitter and offended inside – and this is what shows through our words and behaviour, no matter how much we try and hide it. Why? Because our heart is not cleansed and our mind not refreshed.

CONVICTED BY YOUR CONSCIENCE

Often, the loudest rebuke is the one from the inside of us. Because the motive of our heart cannot be concealed, and no one knows us better than we do ourselves. So, if we are convicted by our conscience, there is hope for us.
